Apache Spot as a Network Security Solution
Gabriela Lima Garza, Front End Developer. INTEL
Resumen: Apache Spot is an open source project, built to leverage strong technology in both “big data” and scientific computing disciplines, proposing a solution for your network infrastructure by detecting anomalies in your network activity which could eventually turn into dangerous threats to your company systems. Apache Spot has a modular architecture allowing the user to leverage on any of its individual components by integrating them on their own projects, or even create their own component to reinforce the solution. As one of the key components in the GUI are the Jupyter notebooks, which are a web based interactive environment that provide access to the Python shell, this makes it a very powerful and versatile tool for data analysis. Continuing with the NetFlow use case, the GUI of the system will be introduced followed by a demo of the Jupyter notebooks performing a deeper analysis of the data.
