En RiskVolution tenemos una premisa central: Aquellos con las mejores estrategias de innovación prevalecerán. Para conseguirlo, los países, empresas y comunidades pueden mitigar su riego de extinción copiando el más exitoso y sofisticado motor de innovación existente: la evolución. Este concepto es la novedad en biomimetismo. Creemos haber aprendido a copiar el increíble motor de innovación de la naturaleza. No las innovaciones en sí, sino las estrategias de innovación que hacen la vida tan exitosa.

“Fast fail”, “split testing”, “fail forward” y otros términos similares se han difundido con sorpresiva rapidez. Si volteamos hacia atrás, nos daremos cuenta que la vida ha hecho eso durante los últimos 3,800 millones de años. Para evolucionar, no realiza grupos experimentales para definir las necesidades. Cada especie humana prueba millones de variaciones en cada nueva generación. Solamente aquellos que terminan mejor adaptados prevalecerán y aquellos que prevalezcan habrán evolucionado en el proceso.

Cada experimento, cada mutación, cada una de las innovaciones tiene un riesgo de fallar, pero nuestro entorno cambia constantemente. Necesitamos adaptarnos continuamente.

Víctor Chapela de Sm4rt Predictive

Victor Chapela serves as Chairman of the Board of Sm4rt Security Services, a highly specialized Pen Testing, Incident Response, Financial Fraud Investigations and Information Security Consulting company based out of Mexico City. Sm4rt Security Services works for over 20 of the Global 500 financial institutions and corporations. Mr. Chapela has over 25 years of IT experience. During this time, he has founded and managed 6 technology related companies in the United States and Mexico. As CEO of these companies he has primarily been involved in the design and implementation of technological processes and software for the financial industry. He is a frequent speaker at international events and is frequently featured in business and trade magazines, television and radio. As part of his previous experience Mr. Chapela founded and operated DigiPro, one of Latin America’s  eading financial data and document image processors, where he designed and implemented most of the software, processes and security checks currently in use. He also founded and served as CEO of TrueCentric, an Austin based software company where he lead a development team of over 90 engineers in the creation of a data mining and customer relation software product for the financial industry. He has served in 12 different boards of directors in the technology industry. His main expertise lies within the area of risk modeling and financial information security. He is co-author and contributor of courseware, study material and security papers for SANS, OWASP, ISACA and several other security organizations and media companies. Mr. Chapela has been leading and actively participating in sm4rt’s Security Assessments, Pen Tests, Consulting and Incident Response engagements. In the last five years he has given over one hundred security conferences and training sessions in North America, Latin America and Europe.
