Guillermo Abdel Musik takes the position of director of ITAM's Business Engineering program

We wish success in his new job to Dr. Guillermo Abdel Musik, who assumes the position of Business Engineering's Director of ITAM as of August. Guillermo Abdel is a former student in Applied Mathematics of ITAM, as well as Master in Regional Science and Doctor in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. He has a post-doctorate in Management from Tulane University.

Guillermo currently is Director of the Center of Competitiveness Studies of ITAM, and teacher of Operations Management, Pricing Strategy, and International Competitiveness. He has specialized in the topics of International Production and Logistics, Pricing Strategy and Project Management.

Previously he was a lecturer on Industry and Urbanization in Latin America at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a consultant for the Industry and Energy Division at the World Bank for two years. He has been a visiting scholar at the Institute for Economic Research, Kyoto University, Japan, and a visiting researcher at the Simon Fraser University Center for Policy Research on Science and Technology in Vancouver, Canada. He has taught courses at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and at the Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was a member of the Advisory Council on Quality of Life, Progress and Development for Mexico City and is currently a member of the Advisory Council of three companies. He is co-editor of the book "México 2020: Retos y Perspectivas", and author of different articles.

In 2015, he was distinguished with the Professional Merit Prize-Academic Sector for the Ex Alumni Association of ITAM.
