Diego Marroquín, ITAM alumnus, appointed first Bersin-Foster professor

We congratulate Diego Marroquín Bitar, alumnus of the International Relations undergraduate program, in his recent appointment as first Bersin-Foster professor for North America at the Woodrow Wilson Center. In this new role, Diego will lead the research agenda about North America, contributing his deep knowledge in key subjects like commerce, investment, energetic integration and labor mobility in the region. 

Diego Marroquín Bitar co-founded the North American Project in the US-Mexico Foundation, as well as the non-profit organization North America 3.0. His trajectory as researcher has driven him to specialize in the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the US, his analysis have been published in international media of great renown, such as The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, The Economist and The Universal.

Before joining the Woodrow Wilson Center, Diego worked as a senior researcher at The Brookings Institution, as a fellow on nearshoring at the US-Mexico Foundation, and as a consultant at The Economist Intelligence Unit. His experience and leadership in North American issues have been fundamental to his appointment in this professorship, which represents an acknowledgement of his dedication and contributions to the international relations study.
