Congratulations to Carlos Mancera Corcuera, who earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from ITAM, for his appointment as president of the National Council for Social Participation in Education (CONAPASE).
Since 1988, Mancera Corcuera has served in various positions at executive branch entities, including posts at the Education Ministry and the Ministry of Planning and Budget. He was also deputy director of science and technology policy at CONACYT. He was deputy secretary of planning and coordination at the Ministry of Public Education from 1994 to 2001. Since May of 2001 he has been a consultant on educational matters, particularly planning and assessment. Recently he was called on by Mexico City Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera to serve as an external consultant for the city’s new constitution.
