ITAM students win third place in Mexico City’s Hackatón

Congratulations to ITAM students Ramón Ríos, Hugo Cardoza and Juan Almaguer for winning third place in the second HackCDMX festival.

Ríos is studying computer science and industrial engineering, Cardoza is studying computer science and applied mathematics, and Juan Almaguer is a business engineering student. HackCDMX is organized by the Mexico City government through the Laboratory for the City

. It is an intense event involving programming and collaboration using data released by different city government entities. The ITAM students participated in the category of civic applications, creating within 44 hours their project titled MOVA, which is a digital platform that uses algorithms to provide a user the best way to get from home to work using at least two types of transportation and reducing commuting time by 20 to 30 percent.
