ITAM teams win awards in regional ACM-ICPC

Two ITAM teams competed in the Mexico-Central America regional contest of the ACM-ICPC Nov. 7-8 in Guadalajara, bringing back a first and fourth place. Congratulations to both teams for their excellent results in ITAM’s first appearance in this event.

 

The team “Los Románticos” was composed of Freddy Román Cepeda, Diego Terán Ríos and Demian Espinosa Ruiz, and the “Lords Llama de la Ciencia” team was made up of Juan Guillermo del Moral González, Ricardo Lara Hernández and Pablo Alejandro López Quiles.

 

“Los Románticos” won fourth place after a difference with the winner of only a single problem. The team won the award for the team that was the quickest in uploading the problem. The “Lords” finished in 26th place among 61 teams that participated.

 

The International Collegiate Programming Contest is an annual programming and algorithm competition among universities worldwide. It is sponsored by IBM. Key factors are teamwork, problem analysis and software development. The contest is organized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
