ITAM congratulates Iván Rodríguez Ortíz who earned a bachelors’ degree in business engineering from ITAM, for the special mention he received in the simulation category of the 2014 financial markets competition organized by the Mexican Stock Exchange.

The work for which he was honored is titled Tradinglab MX, which consists of a web platform used to analyze Mexican issuers and to simulate trading strategies using historical data (backtesting). Tradinglab represents a useful tool for teaching and market exploration and analysis. It can be used by people who have only basic technical knowledge given that the current platforms are customized and are focused on advanced users.

The contest offers young professionals and researchers the chance to develop ideas that improve research, knowledge and creativity, and which also lead to the inclusion of a greater number of people in the current economic and financial arena where there is a need in the stock markets that requires the development of innovative, practical and adaptable ideas to contribute effectively to improving the range of brokerage products and services in Mexico.
