Daniel Chiquiar appointed general director of economic research at Bank of Mexico

The ITAM community congratulates Daniel Chiquiar, who received a bachelor’s degree in economics from ITAM, upon his appointment as general director of economic research at the Bank of Mexico.
Chiquiar, who has a doctorate in economics from the University of California, San Diego, has broad experience in the field as a result of his long career at the Bank of Mexico. He has conducted a vast amount of research on the Mexican economy, focusing on both the public and the private sectors. He has served in posts related to economic policy, including directing economic policy at the Ministry of Finance from 1997 to 1999. He also calculated remittances while working at the bank.
