Congratulations to Decio de María, who earned a bachelor’s in economics at ITAM, appointed yesterday as the president of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FEMEXFUT).

From 1986 to 1988 he worked as assistant manager of financial information at Banxico, the central bank of Mexico. Later he served as undersecretary of Foreign Industry and Commerce Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce and Industrial Development (SECOFI), today known as the Secretary of Economics.

In 2002 he was named general secretary of the Organization of Ibero-American Telecommunications (OTI).

At the beginning of 2004, Decio de María joined the soccer industry when he became general manager of the Professional First Division in FEMEXFUT. In 2012 he was appointed president of the soccer federation’s Liga MX/Ascenso MX.
