Marta Cebollada and Alejandro Moreno presented their compilation of a series of studies conducted by alumni of Political Science in citizen participation. This event was attended by their colleagues in the Political Science Department at our Institution as well as the directors of CESOP (Center for Social Studies and Public Opinion), Gustavo Meixueiro Nájera,Francisco Sales Heredia, Representative Laura Guadalupe Vargas, and MSc. Jeffrey Weldon

According to Representative Laura Guadalupe Vargas, "Mexican citizens are increasingly willing to participate in politics;" hence, this publication's relevance gives a detailed examination of the role of political participation in Mexico through the relationship between its citizens and political parties. In addition, it reaffirms academia's commitment to democratic development.

Alejandro Moreno identifies two facets of democracy, the representative and the electoral. This compilation is based on the former and attempts to understand the "ways in which Mexican citizens are linked to their leaders and representatives." This book aspires to present Mexican citizens’ perceptions, criteria, and perspectives when faced with economic, social, and political changes.
