Jordi Muñoz Bardales was born on May 7, 1986 in the small city of Ensenada, B.C. Mexico. He moved to Tijuana, Mexico (Border with San Diego, CA) when he was four years old and grew up under the technological influence of California. At the age of 13 he started repairing all kind of electronics including laptops and installing small house networks for his friends and family for free.
He spent most of his childhood playing with Legos, electronics and inventing his own robots, but at the same time he felt a unique attraction for aircrafts.

When he was 21, he started working on a project to create an autopilot designed entirely by him. At this time he was living in Riverside, CA. Through this process he met Chris Anderson (also a co-founder of 3DRobotics) over the internet in a blog called DIYDrones. In 2009 they won first place on the Sparkfun UAV competition and created a profitable business called 3DRobotics based on the same autopilot he had created.

Right now Jordi lives in San Diego, CA and is currently CTO of 3DRobotics. He is now graduated and holds a bachelor degree on Computer Engineering.
