Conferencia Magistral en Computación: "Higgs boson studies with CMS detector at the LHC", by Vladimir Rekovic
20 de marzo de 2013
De 12.00 a 13.30 h
Sala de Conferencias, Río Hondo

Bio: Vladimir Rekovic, High - energy particle physicist, working on the particle accelerator LHC (Switzerland) as a member of the CMS, collaboration since 2007.
His current research interests are in Higgs boson physics. As a member of CDF collaboration, he previously conducted research on the Tevaton in Fermilab (USA) were he searched for supersymmetry. He Received a Ph.D from the University of New Mexico in 2007.
Employed by the Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (USA).
Abtstract: On July 4, 2012, ATLAS and CMS collaborations declared a discovery of a new bosonic particle with a mass around 125 GeV on the LHC accelerator in CERN.
In this talk the Higgs program of the CMS is reviewed and the latest results obtained from pp collisions at a center -of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeVn the years 2011 and 2012 are presented.
Measurement of the Higgs-like boson at 125 GeV in the two photon decay channel is presented and discussed in detail. Computing model at CMS is also discussed.
