Adrián Guarneros Tapia appointed general administrator of Taxpayer Services for Mexico’s SAT

Congratulations to Adrián Guarneros Tapia, who holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from ITAM, for his appointment as general administrator of Taxpayer Services for Mexico’s Tax Administration Service (SAT). He has a master’s in public economics from the University of York in England.

Guarneros Tapia has had a wide ranging career in fiscal matters. He was part of the team that worked with the Ministry of Finance to develop the economic package of 2013. Within the government of the State of Mexico, where he worked from 2006 to 2012, he served in posts such as general director of tax collections, general director of fiscal policy, and director of studies on income policy at the state’s Finance Ministry.

He also worked in the federal Finance Ministry. From August 1999 to March 2006, Guarneros Tapia held different positions within the Income Policy Unit. He has taught economics courses at ITAM and has been  a commentator for some news media.
