Convergence is driving a trend towards decoupling of services and networks. This will impose fast changes in the business models, value chains and strategies. It is important to identify the consequences of these changes for management issues. For firms such as telecommunications operators who have invested large sums in IT/IS deployment it is important to have a tight control of how these strategy changes will affect such deployment. Studies have examined the positive influence on performance of the alignment between IS strategy and business strategy (strategic alignment).

This talk presents a research being conducted as an effort to study the effect of changes in strategies imposed by technological convergence on IT/IS deployment of telecommunications operators.
